Alex Papas and Fernando Dos Santos designed new SSTA logos. Alex's logo will be used for print and Fernando's for tees and banners.
The first annual Sandy Springs Tennis Festival was created by the Sandy Springs Tennis Association in partnership with the Sandy Springs Tennis Center, to benefit the organization’s youth programs. It was a day of tennis, food, and fun.
On a rainy day, Ocotber 30, 2009, the KidsLuvTennis Fall 2009 Graduation and Celebration was hosted at the Sandy Springs Tennis Center, by director Ivo Barbic, and pros Danny Eckley and Terry Flynn. Over 60 kids and their parents, Mayor Galambos, Staff from participating Spalding Charter, Woodland Charter, Lake Forest, and High Point elementary schools, Sandy Springs Tennis Association directors, and our mascot JITI attended. Each KLT child received a new small tennis racket, a Certificate of Accomplishment, and a goodie bag provided by Hospitality and Tourism. Refreshments were enjoyed by all.
As part of SSTA's continuing partnerhsip with CHOA, on December 9, 2009, SSTA directors, Vicki Willard, Joan Marcinko,and Julia Bernath, and Ruth Schultz, Executive Director, visited CHOA to present a donation check to Dave Winokur of the CHOA Sports Marketing Department. The visit was highlighted by a visit to The Zone, a new activity area. Juliet Veal, The Zone Coordinator,gave the tour.
The Sandy Springs Tennis Center, located in the heart of Atlanta’s northern business district, has been named by Tennis Magazine as “one of the finest public facilities in the country”. SSTC serves as the hub for tennis activity in Atlanta and Fulton County for all levels and age groups. It boasts 20 hard and 4 clay, lighted courts The Center is home to over 130 USTA and ALTA teams and tournaments each year. SSTC hosts Sandy Springs Tennis Association events and programs.
